SARA is led by a highly experienced, qualified educator who has taught in Japanese schools, special education settings and international classrooms. Lessons begin with listening: understanding each learner’s interests, strengths and challenges, then building trust and confidence, one step at a time.

When school has become difficult, or a conventional classroom doesn’t fit, children need understanding—not pressure. At SARA, we take time to reconnect with curiosity and confidence. Some of our learners have gone on to enjoy attending both SARA and their regular school. Every journey is different, and progress is never one-size-fits-all.

Recognition of attendance outside a regular school is decided by the enrolled school and is subject to applicable requirements.

Can we visit if my child is finding school difficult?
Yes. Please enquire about a visit or a conversation first. We understand that unfamiliar places can be challenging, and we will respect your child’s pace.
Can you help children with different learning needs?
Our teacher has specialist educational qualifications and classroom experience. We can discuss learning approaches and practical support. SARA does not provide medical assessment or diagnosis.
Can lessons at SARA count as school attendance?
In some circumstances, the learner’s enrolled school may recognise learning at an external facility as attendance. This depends on the school’s decision and the relevant requirements, and is not automatic.
Do you offer online lessons outside Miyazaki?
Yes, selected lessons can be taken online by families elsewhere in Japan or overseas. Please enquire about available programs and times.
